Re “Avenging Altar Boy” (column, March 16):
Thank you, Maureen Dowd. For the first time since this sordid Catholic Church abuse scandal began, I have read what actually took place between these men and young boys. And it was disgusting and stomach-turning.
All we had heard was that they abused children, which is bad enough, but doesn’t come close to reading about what was actually done behind the altar and in the sacristy.
Perhaps now they will be put behind bars, where they would be if they weren’t priests.
