Lady Gaga Angers Fans By Tweeting ‘Pop Singers Don’t Eat’

Lady Gaga is currently under fire for a food-related issue--but this time it's not anything like a dress made of meat. The superstar angered scores of fans earlier this week with a tweet many interpreted as dangerously supportive of eating disorders.

"Just killed back to back spin classes. Eating a salad dreaming of a cheeseburger #PopSingersDontEat #IWasBornThisWay," Gaga's Twitter account read on Tuesday.Lady Gaga

The Twittersphere response was swift and negative, with users taking particular offense to the "don't eat" hashtag. Many tweeted such comments as "disgusted," "lost respect," "stupid," and "so wrong" in regards to the remark.

Some fans were even more blunt: "You just blatantly endorsed anorexia to over 22 million followers," read one tweet.

Even the National Eating Disorders Association weighed in,tweeting "Huh? This is the same person who recently implored girls to stop dieting?"

The 26-year-old superstar admitted to Vanity Fair in 2010 that she herself battled bulimia, citing an incident in which she forced herself to throw up a meal of fried chicken before a meeting with a record-label executive.

　「ヴェルサーチ」といえば官能的で派手な印象が強いブランド。日本では８０－９０年代にかけて流行していた。デザイナーのジャンニ・ヴェルサーチ氏が９７年に男娼に射殺されるというショッキングな事件もあったが、妹のドナテッラが後を継いだ。０９年には日本から全店舗を撤退したが、欧米での人気はずっと高く、多くのセレブを顧客に持ち、アメリカの歌姫、レディー・ガガが愛用していることも有名だ。

Mới đây, dị nữ Lady Gaga đã bị hãng luật 1800LAWFIRM kiện sau khi số tiền thu được từ chương trình bán vòng đeo tay từ thiện để ủng hộ Nhật Bản đã không được gửi toàn bộ tới các nạn nhân như lời hứa ban đầu.

Không những thế, 1800LAWFIRM còn cáo buộc dị nữ cùng các công ty có liên quan tới quy trình bán và marketing chiếc vòng "We Pray for Japan" trị giá 5 USD là đã đưa vào phí vận chuyển không hợp lý, cũng như công bố số tiền ủng hộ vượt trội so với sự thật.

Đại diện của 1800LAWFIRM nói rằng dù Lady Gaga đã rất nỗ lực trong các hoạt động từ thiện dành cho người dân Nhật Bản, song điều đó không có nghĩa là việc "ăn bớt" tiền ủng hộ có thể được bỏ qua.

Trước đó, Lady Gaga vừa được Cơ quan Du lịch Nhật Bản trao tặng giấy chứng nhận nhằm bày tỏ lòng biết ơn của họ đối với những đóng góp của cô trong việc quảng bá nền du lịch cho nước này.

Hiện nữ ca sỹ "Born This Way" chưa đưa ra bất kỳ bình luận nào liên quan tới thông tin "vạch xấu" nói trên./.

TOKYO, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Lady Gaga, perhaps the most powerful entertainer in the world of the moment, on Thursday voiced her support to Japan after the March 11 earthquake-tsunami disaster, using her popularity to call on the world to continue to help the country's recovery. The singer-songwriter known for her out-of-the-box style of fashion, arrived in Japan Wednesday and was scheduled to attend the charity event, MTV Video Music Aid Japan, on Saturday at a convention hall in Chiba near Tokyo.

"It is so important for us to continue to raise money," she said at a Tokyo press conference, "but it is also important that we remind the world that Japan is now safe and that the doors are wide open for tourists from all over the world to come in and to enjoy the beautiful country."

Lady Gaga has so far donated 3 million U.S. dollars for people in the coastal regions devastated by the disaster, including revenues from selling the wrist band, which is her brainchild, and her personal contributions, Kyodo News has reported.

U.S. Ambassador to Japan John Roos said at the Thursday press conference that the coming of Lady Gaga is a "powerful and wonderful message" to prove that the United States is supporting Japan, and that Japan is safe and open for business.
